Ilkyaz (she/her) is a ballet dancer, researcher and interdisciplinary designer interested in design technology, performing arts and personal fabrication.  

Her work navigates the symbiosis between tactililty and responsiveness questioning traditional paradigms with a focus on interactive material systems and collaborative making. She explores how human-machine collaboration can redefine sensory experiences in built environments engaging in projects that span from knitted textiles with pneumatic systems to human-robot interaction interfaces.

Ilkyaz is currently a Fulbright Grantee studying Master of Science in Architecture Design and Research, Digital + Material Technologies (MSDMT) at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor - Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning. She received a BArch from Middle East Technical University (2022).
