Within the project site which is a located in the old Factory District of Eskisehir, sustainability was issued as a matter that is inherited within the program, the building systems and as a general clue of awareness in the contextual territory. In that sense, the brick as the face of Eskisehir display an interface within the city as an international indicator and catalyzer.
Regarding that, brick appereances within the city in the form of facades, artworks were taken into regard in the making of a larger awareness. A sustainable building in that territory was established through the remains within the site both in the scale of existing buildings and the scale of brick stacks, the hybrid existing soil and the chimneys. In the site, there were already 3 main factory buildings of Kılıçoğlu Brick and Tile Factory where the buildings are currently emptied out and out of use. Within the elaboration and the delivery of the program which is set to raise awareness towards climate change, the factory buildings are also used through adaptive reuse studies. They are considered in a “green” manner both in adapting newer systems within their old machinery, facades and building typologies, and in their programmatic establishment. (proposed building = 20000 metersquares approximately + factory buildings = 30000 metersquare approximately - 50000 approximately in total)
In addition to approaching to the building in a climate aware manner, the contemporary issue of how data centers adapt introverted approaches with fossil fuel use is taken into consideration as the proposed programmatic part. By adapting new uses with openness, the program is regard ed in such a manner that a data center turns into a communication center which would solve the problem of opennes and energy throughout this data center complex. \
